They were like our personal travel concierge! The rooms were like mini suites, with separate sitting areas that made us feel right at home. It was the perfect place to unwind after a long day of exploring.
Inadequate bed sheet coverage.

The location was great. The Old City Akko Market was just steps from the hostel, and the walls of the old city were even closer. The owner Walhed was great and very knowledgable about restaurants and attractions. It was a great value at about a third to a half of the price of other hotels in the area.

The Akko Gate Hostel was perfect for us. The staff were so friendly and helpful, from the minute we arrived, helping us get settled, directing us to nearby important sites and restaurants, and treating us like old friends. Our room was clean and comfortable - we opted for a private room rather than a dorm room, but the dorms also looked very nice, and include 3 comfortable bunk beds, a bathroom, and a fridge and microwave. The hostel is right in the Old City of Akko, so we could not only walk to all of the fascinating sites within moments, but could drop by our room at any time. And the neighborhood is so friendly that we felt as though we were a part of the local community, rather than strangers, right away. I highly recommend this hostel for anyone, but especially for those looking for a great location and comfortable place for an affordable rate. We loved our time there and are already looking forward to visiting Walid and Halla again on our next trip to the country!

Location was great for sightseeing. You can drive to the Sea of Galilee.
The hostel's complimentary Wi-Fi made it too easy to stay connected with the world. Who needs that on vacation?

Room OK and clean, no bugs.
Facilities advertised are mostly none existent - a real bluff or hoax. Generally this a real lousy place that is only recomended for one nighth if you need a bed and don't want to spend to much . Not recomended for families !!!! Do not order breakfast. Avoid if possible. Anoying hostes.

Excellent place to stay. Nice room, spacious and clean, with a very comfortable bed. Good breakfast, with the sound of birds whistling in the cage nearby. Great location, inside the wonderful old city of Akko, a few minutes walk from the touristic sights and the seafront. The manager, Walid, is funny, friendly and helpful- his kindness was also a highlight of our stay.

The owner was very nice and the location to see the old crusader sites was excellent.
I had to pay in cash. The bed made a lot of noise with every movement. We paid too much for what we got.

The Location is brilliant and it is one of the cheapest places to stay. The rooms are not fancy but ok. The staff is friendly and helpful. We stayed from Friday to Saturday in Akko and wanted to visit another place on Saturday. Since there are no busses leaving on Saturday mornings (Sabbat) the Hostel arranged a transport for us that was a little cheaper than taking a cab.
It is clairaudient so if you are sensitive to noise bring ear plugs.

Female staff member was very helpful. Location in the old town was great. Room was clean with a good AC, TV, shower, etc.
Poor value for money (we stayed in dorms everywhere else, so this may be typical for Israel). Squeaky bed frame. Male staff member was very rude and said "Of course" to every question, implying we were stupid. Security is low as the rooms have only one lock and the entrance to the street is wide open.

The staff were very welcoming. We were given a choice of two very charming rooms, in the old style. The room was very comfotable but the shower and bath backed up a little, but were easily handlable. It was in the centre of the old city, with car parking at the rear. The breakfast was good, but the dining room was a bit basic and could have been tidier.
The shower and bath backed up a bit, and the breakfast area could have been tidier.
